NCBS also runs a recreational program for those wanting to take a once a week class with no further commitments. This is perfect for those that have other commitments but have a desire to keep up with their love of ballet in a once a week open class. The recreational program caters for all ages with a junior, an intermediate and a senior class offered.

At NCBS, contemporary dance is offered to students from the age of 8 as an adjunct to their ballet training, further enhancing their dance performance abilities and increasing their versatility, range and technical competencies as budding young dancers, whether for purely the enjoyment and love of it or for those seeking a potential professional performing career. We also offer a range of other styles for students including Jazz, Hip Hop and Acro classes, as well as Hip Hop and Latin for adults.

NCBS fully prepares students who are considering a future in classical ballet or dance in general and offers support and expert advice on how to achieve these goals. Many students over the past few years have gone on to continue training with The Australian Ballet School, The Australian Ballet Interstate Program, Tanya Pearson’s Classical Coaching Academy, New Zealand School of Dance, The Bolshoi Summer Intensives in Sydney, Italy & Russia and have been successful at numerous international ballet competitions such as Youth American Grand Prix (scholarship to Dutch National Ballet), Asian Grand Prix (finalist for 2018 in Hong Kong) , Alana Haines Awards NZ (3rd place in 2017).
