Avery Gay - US
World of Dance US, SYTYCD US, Little Big Shots US.
Avery Gay is a busy 16 year old from Scottsdale, Arizona USA. She began performing and dancing at the age of 4 and was quickly hooked on the feeling she got from performing for an audience. Avery will risk it all to have that precious stage time. Even if it means dancing in satin pointe shoes on a World of Dance digital computer screen stage! Avery and her partner Marcus Sarjeant were featured dancing on the Qualifiers, The Duals and The Cut on NBC World of Dance. They were the only ballet dancers on the show and performed a ballet fusion on pointe. Earlier this year Showstopper magazine did a 4 page spread showcasing her in their spring edition. Avery was recently named the first and only Grishko USA ambassador. In addition to repping Grishko, Avery is the face of Secondskin Dancewear and was just given her own leotard line with her designs. She has been their model since 2015 and has collected a substantial amount of leos. She is currently organizing a fundraiser to sell her gently worn leos. The proceeds from the sale will be donated to Danza que de Esperanza, a non-profit run out of a ballet studio in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico that aids children living in poverty.
In 2017 Avery was fortunate to perform in 7 galas. This allowed her to travel to Cordoba, Mexico, Portugal, Tampa, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and New York. She was awarded The Dance Awards Junior Female Best Dancer. She returned from the Youth American Grand Prix Finals in New York with a gold medal for her classical Pas de deux of Coppelia. While in New York City, she was invited to perform in the Stars of Today, Stars of Tomorrow Gala at the David H. Koch Theater. Her other stand out accomplishments include dancing on the hit NBC show Little Big Shots, The Steve Harvey Show and So You Think You Can Dance Next Generation.
In 2016, Avery was featured in Dance Spirit Magazine and won the YAGP Grishko model search winner that allowed her the opportunity to be featured in Pointe magazine. In 2015, Avery was named The Dance Awards 2015 Mini Female Best Dancer and was a Beat Squad Member & performed at Dancerpalooza. In addition, she was the 2015 and 2016 YAGP Hope Award recipient and was honored to perform at the prestigious Gala De Danza and the International Ballet Festival of Miami. Avery has had the invaluable experience of being cast as Clara in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 Phoenix Ballet production of the Nutcracker. Avery has had the opportunity to travel to North America and assist this generation's top choreographers and teachers for Break The Floor Productions during her years as winner for The Dance Awards. She has done the majority of her training in Arizona and is currently enrolled in the pre-professional ballet program at Russian Ballet Academy.
We will also be offering classes in term 2 for anyone who would like to continue their dance training. Term 2 timetable will be available shortly. Private lessons also available. Email to book a spot!
